With the combination of sunshine, record crowds and some new additional activities and promotions with the event this year, we had a record number of registrants (35,000) and a record number of no-shows on event morning, making the scene in Waterfront Park and on the routes one of delighted green congestion. A terrific time was had by all those claiming to be Irish for the weekend and, hopefully, by all sponsors, workers and supporters.

And for the first time, active troops in Kabul, Afghanistan also participated in a shadow run..Sgt. Major Eric Peterson of the start of the 1^st Shamrock shadow run!
