Moms! We could use your help clearing out your kids’ closets and trunks.

What is Project Lemonade and why is there a need for it?

Project Lemonade is a non-profit working to supply free clothes to over 2,000 foster children living in Multnomah County. Unfortunately, the Department of Human Services no longer has money in their budget to provide clothing to foster children. The Project Lemonade store (located in the Pearl District) will open this summer from August 20th - September 7th, just in time for foster children to get some new clothes for school, helping to boost their confidence as they head back this fall. Project Lemonade hopes this small effort will help our foster children feel special and loved, creating higher self esteem, which will in turn help the community as a whole.

What do we need from community members / how can you help?

We are looking to our community to help by donating new and nearly new clothing, shoes and accessories for children ages 5-20. We would accept financial donations, which will go towards filling gaps, and flushing out areas of the store that may need more bulk. Excess funds will go towards making Project Lemonade a permanent part of Multnomah County.

Where can you make donations or drop off donations?

You can drop off any donations at the Project Lemonade store (1015 NW Lovejoy) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. Additionally there are four Parr Lumber locations in Portland that currently act as drop off locations with clearly marked Project Lemonade bins.

Who is currently supporting Project Lemonade?

We have a power committee (all women!) who have garnered sponsorships and support from City Commissioner Dan Saltzman, Nike, Chase Bank, Agave Denim, Evolution Hair Design, Parr Lumber, Mario's, Grand and Benedict, R & H Construction, Wells Fargo Insurance Services and many more.

If Project Lemonade is an organization that you feel is worthy of some air time on KINK we would be most appreciative.
