Take a look at this video and you begin to get a glimpse of where technology will take us. A pup who lost his paws to frostbite after being abandoned in winter by Nebraskans fleeing their foreclosed home has become the first dog to receive four prosthetic paws.

The bionic legs allow Nakio a red heeler, to run, jump and swim. The pioneering prosthetics were designed and fitted by Martni Kaufmann, the founder of Orthopets, in Denver. The research will also help understand how prosthetics will be able to help humans run, jump and swim.
