As summer officially starts in the northwest after the 4th of July, it only seems appropriate to talk about indoor activities. LIKE MOVIES!
Here's what I'm looking forward to this summer (in no particular order):
1. Horrible Bosses (July 8th)
With 2 of my favorite actors (Kevin Spacey and Jason Bateman) this looks like a illegitimately funny ensemble comedy. I really hope they don't screw this up.
2. Tabloid (July 15th)
It's about KIDNAPPING, SEX, and MORMONS and it's a documentary! Made by the awesome Errol Morris (Fog of War, Thin Blue Line), this movie has totally piqued my curiosity. It'll pique yours too if you view the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWeQce0cZsE
3. Harry Potter and the something something conclusion
I'll be the first to admit that I haven't read any of the books. But, I've enjoyed most of the movies (at least the ones since the gang passed puberty). Most of all, I really want to see this movie because I've made it this far without anyone spoiling the ending for me. So, don't spoil it. Please.

4. 30 Minutes or Less (August 12th)
It has that guy from Social Network and the dude from Parks and Rec and whats his face from Eastbound and Down. Also, it was directed by the Zombieland guy.
5. Cowboys and Aliens (July 29th)
I am fully prepared for this movie to suck, but I kind of want to see it. I'll probably be waiting until it hits one of the Portland cheap theaters (Laurehurst, Academy, Bagdad, etc...) so I can see it with a beer in hand.
6. Project Nim (July 8th)
In college I worked with the first chimpanzee to communicate using American Sign Language: Washoe. This movie is about a follow up study to further examine language acquisition in non-human primates. This particular study, centered around "Nim Chimpsky," was completely botched (if memory serves). Should be an interesting documentary.
7. Super 8
I know, I know, this movie's already out. I just haven't gotten a chance to see it yet. I've heard it's kind of like E.T. meets Close Encounters.
