On June 24, 2011, the New York State Legislature passed the Marriage Equality Act, signed into law by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo on the same day, making NY the largest state where gay and lesbian couples will be able to wed!!

The law went  into effect on Sunday, July 24, 2011 and the  New York City Clerk began issuing marriage licenses and providing civil marriage ceremonies to same-sex couples.

At such a monumental time for the LGBT community and New York, home to a large, visible and politically influential gay community, most people - gay and straight - are faced with new etiquette quandaries, that old-school, Miss Manners fails to address!

Steven Petrow, the go-to authority on the subject, is here to help by offering questions and answers. Ultimately, it's a book for all of us!

Check out Steven's great and interactive site HERE.

I really like the pieces that The New York Times ran on Sunday. Check them out HERE.
