I've been on vacation for a couple weeks, but here are a few great albums that have been released. They deserve your attention... so stop being such an attention hog.
Tom Morello/The Nightwatchman - World Wide Rebel Songs: Put your Marxist hat on and grab a picket sign. I prefer my protest songs Morello style. Which is to say, Dylan style or Springsteen style. I LOVE Tom Morello, and I was/am a huge Rage Against the Machine fan. Glad Tom's keeping busy. Don't miss track 4 "Save the Hammer for the Man" featuring Ben Harper.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - I'm With You: The Chilli Peppers haven't released anything since 2006's double album: Stadium Arcadium. The big thing this album has working against it is the absence of John Frusciante playing guitar. Although picking up a new guitarist is familiar ground for the RHCP, I think their best work has come with Frusciante at the helm. That being said, I'm sure the album is worth checking out.
Catie Curtis - Stretch Limousine on Fire: I was first turned on the Catie Curtis with her 2006 release "Long Night Moon," which I was a big fan of. She hasn't changed much since then, which is great! Stay the way you are, Catie, and keep churning albums like this out.
Counting Crows - August and Everything After Live at Town Hall: The Crows return to the album that started it all. They're a great live band, and it's fun to go back and listed to a few songs I haven't heard in a while like: Anna Begins, Murder of One, Omaha, and of course Mr. Jones.
