The Windsor Player, a new Portland-based outfit led by Troy Stewart (Snow Patrol, Tired Pony) release their self-titled debut album on Oct. 11.
The 10-track release was recorded at The Trench studios in Portland, Ore. in the Spring with The Minor Brothers (of Carolina) producing and Dave Friedlander (Prince, Pink Martini) mixing the album.
Troy, who is the touring guitar player for Snow Patrol and a member of the all-star band Tired Pony, recruited an unbelievable group of musicians to work on the melodic indie pop release including Scott McCaughey (R.E.M., The Minus 5, Young Fresh Fellows), Gregg Williams (Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris), Jote Osahn (Elbow, Gorillaz), Chris Schleyer (Prick, Kidneythieves) and additional players Peter Buck (R.E.M., The Minus 5) and Richard Coburn (Belle & Sebastian, Snow Patrol) amongst others.
"The Windsor Player is a collection of songs surfacing from various musical influences over many years." explained Troy. "It is my hope for the listener that the passions, talents and dedication of the players within these songs will move you as they have me. Make no mistake, this is no solo project... this is a band!
