Feist headlines this week of possible musical purchases.  Support your local record store! ~ Jason Miller


Feist - Metals: Leslie Feist returns with her first album since the brilliant 2009 release "The Reminder."  I've liked everything she's done as a solo artist (and with Broken Social Scene, for that matter), so this album will be an easy purchase for me.  By the way, she's coming to Portland Nov. 16.


Jack's Mannequin - People and Things: If my voice was a little higher, I'd be singing along with every Jack's Mannequin song in the car on my trips down the I-5 corridor.  The band lives in a grey area between pop-punk and respectability, but don't we all?  No?  Well they do.   


Indigo Girls - Beauty Queen Sister: So many people write these ladies off as a one-hit wonder (Closer to Fine), which is unfortunate.  The Indigo Girls continue to release quality, intimate, and occasionally humorous songs and albums.  Great with lyrics, great with harmonies.  


Styles P - Master of Ceremonies: Perhaps this next one isn't for all KINKsters, but it'll be in my bag at Music Millenium.  I don't buy a ton of hip ho[ albums, but I would if they sounded like this.  Styles P just knows how to rap.  I've been waiting for this album for a couple months now, and all the early buzz is good.  Plus, it'll make me feel tough when I'm rolling down Hawthorne in my Mitsubishi.
