The fact is, we have a rainy w-end on the books, the first in months possibly. So what say we hunker down and do the great indoors?

1. THE WALKING DEAD.  Season 3 kicks off Sunday. It's one of  those things that is soo much fun to watch with other like minded folks. So reserve every Sunday at 7pm for a free screening  of the show at the Hollywood Theatre. Safety in numbers.

1. FRIGHT FLICKS. Friday-Sunday. The Clinton Street Theater hosts two nights of fright flicks to get the Halloween season rolling. Saturday catch an evening of undead shorts and classic features, followed Sunday by a special preview of next spring’s H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival: Zompire vs the HP Lovecraft Film Festival.

3. 30th REEL FILM FESTIVAL
. This series annually showcases films that tell the creative stories, what's behind the sounds. The best part is the rich cross-section of genres the films offer, from jazz, to classical, rock to rap It's all here. Most films ( a few at Mission Theatre) show at Whitsell Auditorium

4. PORTLAND OPEN STUDIOS. This w-end and next, check out the work spaces of artists in their studios. Step in to the studios of jewelers, sculptors, painters, designers, ceramics artists and more. The studios are scattered all over the metro area. Just snag a map and plot a course. There's an iPhone app too. (Catch the video below for a taste of what ceramic artist Careen Stoll does in her SE Portland workspace. Below the 5.)

5. FESTIVAL OF POSITIVITY.
A weekend of fundraising to draw attention to all that is going well in our world. The incredibly energetic and driven to dream Festival Founder David Kamens wants to do that and more. Check out our convo below the 5. And join in the fun Saturday it’s the Par 3 Golf Tournament. .100 holes at the beautiful Eagle Landing. And Sunday a benefit concert at the Crystal.  David envisions an arts-inspired, youth-benefiting, Portland-based, sports and music-driven PARTY!.
