WalletHub, an online financial services company, recently compared the 100 largest U.S. cities looking at 20 key green indicators. Those indicators range from greenhouse gas emissions per capita to smart-energy policies. WalletHub reports that more jobs are created for each unit of electricity generated from renewable sources than from fossil fuels. So where did Portland rank? The Rose City came in at number 8 with high marks in farmers markets per capita, bike commuting, green spaces and air quality index.
